NIH Launches Centers for Common Disease Genomics

The National Institutes of Health will fund a set of genome sequencing and analysis centers whose research will focus on understanding the genomic bases of common and rare human diseases.   The National Institutes of Health today launched the Centers for Common Disease Genomics (CCDG). With funding from the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), the new CCDG centers could receive $260 million over four years.  To read more, take a look at news brief at the NIH.
